Carolyn L. Kane

TORONTO METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY

 

Carolyn L. Kane is the author of the award-winning book, Chromatic Algorithms: Synthetic Color, Computer Art, and Aesthetics after Code (University of Chicago Press, 2014).

Dr. Kane completed her M.A. in Media Studies at The New School University, earned her Ph.D. in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University (2011), and was awarded the Nancy L. Buc Postdoctoral Fellow in “Aesthetics and the Question of Beauty” at Brown University in 2014–2015. She was also on the Faculty of the Film and Media Department at Hunter College in the City University of New York (2011–2014) and is currently an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Communication and Design at Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto.
