Marbled Faces, Community Spaces
Sabine Spare, Chroma Colour Textiles Studio
Location / Lieu : 52 St Lawrence St. #317, Toronto
This workshop will be held at Chroma Colour Textiles Studio, a new textiles studio downtown Toronto. Conceptually the workshop will explore themes of community building and togetherness. Creative coworking spaces are integral for creative individuals on multiple levels. On a practical level, they are essential for offering shared resources and to rent spaces that would otherwise be cost prohibitive as a solo artist. From a creative standpoint they can help promote collaboration, mutual aid and inspiration.
This workshop will begin by introducing participants to fabric marbling, an ancient aqueous surface design technique. Students will then get to design and create their own original marbled faces. The faces can be self portraits, the face of someone important to them or the face of a fictional character.
Materials fee $20 per person.

Re.Stance Collective Film Screenings: Entangled Temporality — A Love Letter to Gaia
Re.Stance
Location / Lieu : The Catalyst, 80 Gould Street, Toronto, ON
Re.Stance is proud to present this special screening as part of Temporality: A Love Letter to Gaia, a curated programme of short films and documentaries developed in collaboration with Labia Cinematica. This selection brings together moving image works that explore the intersections of fashion, ecology, and textile practice, foregrounding the material and cultural dimensions of what we wear.
Centering BIPOC voices and perspectives, the programme features both experimental and documentary approaches that examine environmental impact, cultural memory, and the lived realities embedded within garments. Each film offers an intimate lens on how clothing is made, circulated, and understood across diverse contexts.
Through these works, Temporality invites audiences to reflect on the supply chain not as a distant system, but as a network of relationships, human, ecological, and historical. The screening highlights alternative ways of engaging with fashion, encouraging a deeper awareness of the processes and stories woven into every textile.
