Maria Paula Grisales Duque (she/her) is a graphic designer and photographer currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, with a concentration in Communications and a Minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Toronto Metropolitan University. As part of the Fashion Studies editorial team, Maria works across graphic design, and visual communication, while developing article layouts, visual assets, covers, social media content, and web design. She is passionate about graphic design, fashion photography, and art direction, particularly within fashion editorial work.

Maria believes design is a tool for creating meaning, purpose, functionality, and an emotional impact while challenging systemic racism and inequity. At the core of her design work, she prioritizes her intersectional identity. She comes from the land of Casanare, Colombia, a proud descendant of the Llaneros community. This connection leads to her work being deeply rooted in honoring tradition, craftsmanship, and cultural identity within the fashion industry, while reinterpreting these concepts in a contemporary lens.
